Iron Man Coeur d' Alene

The third Ford Ironman USA Coeur d'Alene triathlon is set to take place on Sunday, June 24, 2007.
Ironman triathlon is one of the most grueling events in the world of sport but alos one of the most inspiring. Ironman triathlons feature a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike ride and a complete 26.2-mile marathon all in succession. Athletes have 17 hours to complete the event from 7am to midnight.
There are currently 19 Ironman events around the world, including five in North America. The events act as qualifying events for the Ironman Triathlon World Championship in Kona, Hawaii.
A typical Ironman North America event features 1,800-2,000 athletes from 30 different countries, making it a true international event. Spectators at an Ironman North America event have ranged from 15,000-50,000.
